Project Overview

Escambia County Office of Transportation and Traffic Operations has selected Baskerville-Donovan, Inc. to conduct a Project Development and Environment Study (PD&E) to evaluate options for a new east-west connection to improve regional mobility and provide a much needed intra-county transportation solution between Blue Angel Parkway and U.S. HW #29 (Pensacola Boulevard).

The focus of the Study is the proposed corridor, also known as the Pinestead-Longleaf Drive Corridor, from Pine Forest Road to U.S. Highway 29. The project is approximately three (3) miles in length. The project will study the proposed corridor that begins at the existing west end of Longleaf Drive at Pine Forest Road, and would extend in a northeasterly direction to connect with Pinestead Road. The project ends at U.S. Highway 29. The specific objective of this study is to prepare a series of reports documenting the requirements for preliminary design, including existing and predicted conditions; typical sections; environmental impacts; preparation of Environmental Assessment and costs of the alternatives.
