Welcome to the PD&E for Perdido Key Drive
The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners has contracted with Atkins to conduct a Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study on State Road 292 (Perdido Key Drive) from the Alabama state line to the intersection of Innerarity Point Road and Gulf Beach Highway, a distance of approximately 7 miles. The objective of the study is to combine analysis of future traffic demand with public input to determine how best to provide the needed mobility and safety improvements to Perdido Key Drive, while minimizing impacts to the social, physical, and natural environments.
The proposed improvements would:
- Provide a 4-lane Divided Roadway
- Provide Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities
- Improve Traffic Capacity
- Improve Emergency Service Response Times
- Improve Hurricane Evacuation
